Vitamins and Minerals

It is important to keep a good balance and eat a variety of foods to get the vitamins and minerals our bodies need. In order to help us reaching the recommended daily intake in vitamins and minerals, some foods, including breakfast cereals, are fortified. This means they contain added vitamins and minerals.

Breakfast cereals are an important source of vitamins and minerals

Breakfast cereals are a main source of vitamins and minerals in the diets of many people around the world. Children and adults who eat fortified breakfast cereals are more likely to meet their daily vitamin and mineral needs. This is shown from dietary surveys of children, adolescents and adults including UK, Ireland, France and United States (Gibson, 2003; Hannon et al, 2007; INCA2, 2008; Albertson et al, 2008).

Nestlé Breakfast Cereals are typically a source of vitamins and minerals such as B2, B3, B6, and B9, as well as iron and calcium.
